Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Rumoured to Come with Snapdragon 630 Processor

Touted as ‘Apple’ of China, Xiaomi’s upcoming smartphone Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 specifications has been leaked online and is rumoured to launch later this month. However, official launch launch date has not been revealed yet.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 is expected to come with Qualcomm Snapdragon 630, a 5.5-inch Full HD (1080p) display (similar to Redmi Note 4) and will run on Android 7.1 Nougat operating system.

According to the media reports, the fingerprint scanner on the Redmi Note 5 will be integrated onto the home button as compared to the existing Redmi Note 4 which has fingerprint scanner on the back. Redmi Note 5 display is also expected to have improved sunlight visibility and contrast ratio than its predecessors.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 SoC equips X12 LTE, Adreno 508 GPU for graphic processing and also comes with Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, USB 3.1, and Quick Charge 4.0.   When it comes to the primary camera, Redmi Note 5 will sport a 16MP shooter with an f/2.0 aperture and a 13MP snapper on the front.

The smartphone could come in two variants — 3GB RAM/32GB ROM and 4GB RAM/64GB ROM and will come with a 3,790mAh battery, down from the Note 4’s 4,100mAh.

While the base variant of Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 will cost $200 (or approximately Rs 12,969), the other variants might land at the higher price side.

In May, Xiaomi launched Redmi 4 in India in three variants — 2GB RAM+16GB storage, 3GB RAM+32GB storage and 4GB RAM+64GB storage — priced at Rs 6,999, Rs 8,999 and Rs 10,999, respectively.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5  5-inch HD device is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 octa-core processor, runs on MIUI 8 with Android N Preview. Redmi 4 sports 13MP rear camera and houses 4,100mAh battery.
