Well, the News and Interests Widget has made its way from Windows 10 to Windows 11. And if you don’t want the Widgets icon on your Windows 11 Taskbar, then we can remove or disable it, here are the steps to follow.
Although, News and Interests Widgets hardly make any sense, yet Microsoft added it through a Windows update in Win 10. If you’re not a fan, thankfully there is a way to Remove the Widgets. Even though the feature is more elegant on Windows 11, but you still might not be a fan. Hence, follow this tutorial.
Enable or Disable widgets in Windows 11
There are two ways to remove Widgets, here are both.
#Ist method
Unpin Widgets from Windows 11 Taskbar
Simply go to the Taskbar, right-click on the Widgets icon. This will give you an option “Unpin from Taskbar” select it. This will automatically remove the Widgets. However, to pin it again you have to follow the second method given here.
#2nd Method
Turn off or ON Widgets icon using Taskbar
Step 1: Right-click an empty area on the Windows 11 Taskbar and select Taskbar Settings.
Step 2: Select Taskbar items that will open a drop-down box to reveal further related options.
Step 3: Click the Toggle button to Turn off or ON the Widgets from the Windows 11 Taskbar to completely disable or enable it.
Widgets Shortcut Key Windows 11
Even if you have removed the Widgets icon from the Taskbar, if you want to access it occasionally, we can do that using a combination of shortcut keys. For that simply press Win key + W on your Keyboard.
So, in this way we can rid of its icon but with an option to even still access it. However, the options given here can be changed with the final version of the OS, because we are still right now on the Insider Preview. And there are lots of changes ahead.
