How to Download DaVinci Resolve and install on Ubuntu 20.04 LTS

DaVinci Resolve is a professional non-linear video editing software that is available in both free and paid versions. Here we see the steps to install it on Ubuntu 20.04 or 18.04 LTS Linux. The steps can be followed on any Linux such as Debian, CentOS, RedHat, Linux Mint, OpenSUSE, Fedora, Elementary OS, etc.

The free version of the software comes with tools and features for extensive video editing including Ultra HD processing, Multicam editing, and 5.1 surround support. It allows cutting or editing of films on dozens of audio and video tracks quickly and accurately, and combining them with transition effects.

The popular feature of the software is its ability to perform professional color correction and the tracking tool for select editing. With the video editor you can edit all important formats such as MOV, MP4, and AVI, but also camera RAW files from Arri Alexa, RED, and CinemaDNG data and phantom cine files

You can dynamically zoom the image area, rotate it in space, or let it run faster and slower. The highlights of the software are the professional color corrections and the tracking tool for selective editing. If you are satisfied with the result, export the clip in one of the numerous formats such as AVI, MP4, and MOV, or suitable for YouTube and Vimeo.

DaVinci Resolve supports projects up to the Ultra HD format 3860 x 2160. Furthermore, we can use the Keyframe Editor to “animate” video sequences.

When it comes to “sound”, the editor comes up with standards such as volume adjustment, mixer, fading in and out, or crossfades. “DaVinci Resolve” reads standard formats such as WAV, AIFF, MP3, and AAC / M4A up to 192 kHz for audio dubbing and also allows the use of 5.1 surround sound.

If we talk about system requirements, for better performance the DaVinci Resolve requires a PC with 16 GB of RAM and 2 GB of video Graphics. To know more about it, a detailed English-language PDF manual comes with software that the user can read to know how to handle it.
