Microsoft’s next-generation 2020 console is Xbox Series X not Scarlett

At the stage of The Game Awards (TGA), Microsoft’s vice-president of Gaming “Phil Spencer” announced that the new generation of game consoles codenamed Xbox Scarlett will be named Xbox Series X.

During the event, Spencer also hinted the new console would not be called Xbox Two or Xbox 4. It was unexpected by many people that the new name would be announced so soon. There will be two versions of this upcoming device, one will be “Lockhart” and the top version “Anaconda”.

The pictures and promo video released together show that the new gaming device adopts a cuboid design and can stand on a desktop. The top is a recessed circular hole with a green breathing light inside. Microsoft also used the new Xbox Series X console to demonstrate Ninja Theory’s new game “Hellbade 2”. In addition, Microsoft reconfirmed that the new console will be available around the Christmas holiday next year (2020).
