Spotify is now officially available for Indian users after a small legal difficulty. Everything you need to know.

After a long wait, one of the biggest music streaming services, i.e. Spotify is now available in India. That being said, you can download Spotify on your Android or iOS devices from the respective stores, or you can also access the music streaming service from your desktop by visiting the website. Though pretty old, it is just today that the services are available in India. The services of the Sweedish music company was also accessible in India prior to the official release through VPN services, which wasn’t for everybody no doubt, the reasons for which doesn’t require any explanation. That was the reason, why Indians resorted to other music streaming services like Gaana, Saavn, Amazon Prime Music, and many others.

After the official release in India, the users can now get a month of free trial, after which there are multiple plans to go for. However, you can also listen to your favorite songs, or stream them for free, but there are definitely some limitations. Spotify is available at Rs. 119 per month or Rs. 13 a day for normal users, and Rs. 59 per month, which is a 50% discount for students after the first month for free. Apart from that, there are other premium subscription plans like Rs. 39 for 7 days, Rs. 719 for a month, Rs. 389 for 3 months, and so on. Students can avail a 50% discount on all the plans. Due to the low density of credit cards in India, Spotify has added the option to avail the premium services by paying trough PayTM, which has already opened the door for most users to subscribe to the music streaming platform.

Talking about the catalog, Spotify has a pretty impressive music catalog and apart from English and Bollywood songs, there is even a plethora of other music and radios available in Indian regional languages, Bengali, Punjabi, Telugu, being a few of them available on the platform. If you have a premium subscription, you can even download the songs and listen to them without an internet connection, and that too completely free from those pesky nd annoying ads. You can listen to the latest releases, create playlists and customize the listening experience in your own way on Spotify.

If you already using some music streaming service, but want to try something now, Spotify is worth trying out, as the subscription costs are in a budget, however, that is slightly higher than the other premium music streaming services available in India. The Sweedish music streaming service Spotify has the highest number of paid subscribers, and it is well-known for its algorithm that automatically recommends music as per your likes.

While Spotify is now available in India, and the cost of the premium plans aren’t that overwhelming, it is yet to be seen, how the already existing streaming services in India will react. Chances are there, we can see a drop in the prices of the premium plans, or there will be more lucrative features or an even better music collection. It is yet to be seen whatsoever.

With the premium subscription of Spotify, you will be able to listen to music at 320 kbps, which is quite impressive, and the same is offered by most other popular music streaming services, as well. After a little legal snag, Spotify is now available in India, and everybody from 8 to 80 should be happy for its availability. Just signup with your Facebook or Google account, create your playlists and get started with your journey of listening to your favorite music.

This is worth knowing if you are fond of listening to music. Do you still have any questions in mind? Feel free to comment it, or the views about Spotify’s availability in India, in the comments down below.
