Asus Zenfone Live ZB501KL: A BeautyLive Smartphone

Recently Asus launches its latest budget smartphone named Asus Zenfone Live. According to the company the phone specially designed to enhance the user’s GoLive experience on social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram. Let’s see the short review of the Asus Zenfone Live based on our experience during the launch event

 Display  and Design 

The display of the phone is IPS 5.0 inches 720 x 1280 pixels HD but looks pretty much good and sharp, even the colors it produces are rich. The pixel density of the Asus Zenfone live display is 294 PPI pixel density.

The phone designed very well and the size of the Asus Zenfone Live is the most convenient for both small and big handed peoples. Asus Zenfone Live possess the 141.2 x 71.7 x 8 mm dimensions and weighs 120 gm. The upper portion of the is regular like all the Asus Zenfone series have but it has soft light LED flash.

Asus Zenfone Live has complete metallic-finish, 2.5D cover glass and 75% screen-to-body ratio. The ergonomic feel of the front glass flows around the back gives extra aesthetics to the phone. The ZenFone Live features a premium build quality with sandblasted metallic finish that feels as great as it looks, and is available in three stunning colors — Navy Black, Rose Pink, and Shimmer Gold.

 

The back side of the Asus Zenfone Live is also clean and clear with metallic finish. The chrome finish logo of the ASUS is just placed the almost center of the back while the camera and flash at the left top side of the in a vertical symmetry.

The Volume rockers and power on/off switch are placed at the right side of the phone and also of metallic with good tactile feedback.

 

The top portion of the Asus Zenfone Live is for noise cancellation Mic and 3.5mm headphone jack.

 

Camera  

Asus ZenFone Live has a 13MP rear camera with f/2.0-aperture, five-prism rear lens. We didn’t get a chance to test the camera but as per the company it also enhances noise reduction and boosts color contrast by up to 400 percent. Asus ZenFone Live camera app supports up to 12 different camera modes, including real-time Beautification, Low Light, and Super Resolution modes, to captures beautiful high-resolution photos.

 

Asus ZenFone Live’s front camera is 5MP and 1.4μm pixels that improve sensitivity to light by up to 200 percent compared to smartphones with standard smaller pixels. ZenFone Live also has a soft-light LED flash that illuminates true skin tones, and it’s equipped with a wide-angle lens with an 82° field of view — so users are able to frame, capture details in wide angle and broadcast it to the world.

ZenFone Live also has dual micro-electro-mechanical system (MEMS) microphones to help eliminate background noise and enhance voice pickup. But I think we used it but didn’t find any much difference.

 

It also has the real-time beautyLive app for live-streaming beautification direct to social media. It integrates seamlessly with Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube. The BeautyLive feature works with both front and rear camera.
