How to get dark mode on WhatsApp to keep eyes stress free

WhatsApp keeps adding new features to the app, and most features turn out to be useful for us, except a few like forwarding limited to 5 persons at a time. One of the much-anticipated features of the last decade was the dark mode. It is still a much desirable feature, not only on WhatsApp but on all other apps, including the system interface. Perhaps, that’s the reason, why Google introduced the system-wide dark mode in Android 10, and I personally like the feature, just like most other users using Android 10. But, when it comes to the dark mode on WhatsApp, we are hearing rumours about it, for a long time.

But finally, the dark mode on WhatsApp is available. Yes, you heard it right. However, it will not be enabled by default. The developers want you to dig into the settings, perhaps, Facebook wants you to see, ‘WhatsApp is from Facebook’. Jokes apart, the dark mode is available, and if you have been waiting for the dark mode for long, you can enable it right now. This can be very useful if you use WhatsApp especially in the night time, or you don’t want to stress your eyes out while using WhatsApp. So, today, I will show you the ways to enable dark mode on WhatsApp.

So, without any further delay, let’s get started with how you can enable dark mode on WhatsApp.

Enabling dark mode on WhatsApp

Step 1: Open WhatsApp, tap on the triple-dot menu, and then tap on ‘Settings’.

Step 4: WhatsApp will instantly switch to dark mode, and here are few glimpses of the dark mode on WhatsApp.

There is a third mode, the ‘System default’ mode, which automatically switches to the light theme or dark theme depending upon the system settings. So, you choose the ‘Dark’ theme to always keep the dark theme enabled, and the ‘Auto’ theme to automatically switch between dark theme and light theme at different times of the day.

When it comes to the dark mode on WhatsApp, this is available only on WhatsApp, and if you are using WhatsApp Business, you might have to wait for a few more days before it is available there. If the dark theme is not yet available to you, just update WhatsApp, and the feature should be available after that.

I am really happy to find that the dark mode is available finally on WhatsApp. Do you have any questions? Feel free to comment on the same below.Â
