Cinionic and Miraj Cinemas coalition to swell movie-going experience in India

Cinionic, a prominent name in the cinema industry for projectors and other media equipment, has announced its collaboration with India’s theatre chain, Miraj Cinemas to expand its reach in the country.

The alliance will bring Barco projectors to 60 screens across 20 Miraj Cinemas’ Multiplexes, including its Miraj Maximum, the largest movie theatre screen in Delhi. As per the public press release, this will bring exceptional projection quality, bright, clear images and an incredible sense of immersion. With more than half of the world’s movie theatres illuminated by Cinionic and over 85,000 Barco projectors.

“Cinionic is committed to bringing innovative solutions and business models for exhibitors worldwide. The extension of this relationship expands our footprint in India and builds upon our momentum to deliver the best experience to moviegoers around the globe,” said Wim Buyers, CEO.

The movie theatre industry in India is growing thanks to a varied consumer profile, increased exposure in tier two and three cities and growing momentum in the multiplex industry.

“Presently, we have more than 70 projectors from Barco and as we continue to expand, we are committed to adding 50-70 screens to our theatres year on year with Cinionic. As we grow, we need a partner that can grow with us and one that we can trust to offer the best solution to our customers,” said Amit Sharma Managing Director of Miraj Cinemas. “Our relationship with Cinionic and Barco has been a long one and we immensely value our alliance. The growth with Miraj Cinemas together with E-City Digital and Qube Cinemas continues Cinionic’s international expansion and an industries trend for laser projection.
