Why join a BPO? Top 5 advantages of joining a BPO job

After your education is over, you have a plethora of job options in hand, and you can even find one that suits your academic qualification. Most jobs are tough to certain people, however, it is not about the nature of the job. It is all about the expertise and interests of the one doing the job. One of the most famous job options to explore is BPO jobs. BPO sectors require a lot of employees to cater to ever-expanding business requirements, and no matter, what your academic qualifications are, you will get a BPO job that you can handle, obviously, if you have a good command over the English language, and have powerful communication skills.

Working in a BPO is filled with advantages, and if you want to climb quickly in the career ladder, there is hardly anything better than joining a BPO. The career prospects are huge, and today, I will talk about, why you should join a BPO sector, and how good, BPO is going to be, for your career. Somebody can join a BPO after completing the high-school education, i.e. after passing Class XII, however, there are undoubtedly more opportunities for growth if somebody joins the BPO industry after graduation. An employee in a BPO, who has joined after high-schools can easily complete the graduation because of the flexibility BPO jobs has to offer, which I will discuss.

Advantages of a BPO Jobs

So, without any further delay, let’s get started with, why BPO is a good career option for anybody who wants to maintain a great work profile.

Decent salary

#Ist BPO Advantage: The first thing that comes to the mind of the majority of the candidates before joining a company is, how much salary they are going to get. Talking about the starting salary in a BPO, there isn’t any fixed number, however, you can expect Rs. 15,000 or more in-hand, obviously if you are joining a reputed BPO. Depending upon your extra skills, the starting salary can go as high as around Rs. 20,000 or even more, and you can definitely expect increments after certain months, if you are serious, and is working hard.

Even if you are joining a normal BPO company, you can expect at least Rs. 10,000 starting salary in-hand, and you can definitely expect increments shortly after joining. If the amount seems to be too small for you, you can always switch companies after gaining some experience, and there are additional benefits for sure, which I will be discussing in the next points. The average salary in BPO is higher than it is in most other sectors that several fresh candidates join after their graduation, or when the education is over.

Faster growth

The second BPO advantage is when these sectors keep hiring new candidates, one reason behind it is, there is a great opportunity for the candidates to climb very fast on their career ladder. Depending upon the BPO, a candidate is working in, they can serve both domestic and international clients, and in both cases, growth is inevitable. After working for certain months, a candidate can be promoted and he can then handle more responsibilities, opening scopes for going abroad.

When a candidate is promoted, he can be given supervisory responsibilities, to look after the quality of service. Those additional responsibilities undoubtedly come with higher pay. Besides promotion and faster growth, an employee in a BPO can switch responsibilities or navigate from domain to the other. It is all about, whether a candidate working in a BPO is satisfied with the current domain, and the pace he keeps learning new things whilst being in the job fulfilling his responsibilities.

Become a domain expert

Not always, but for the most part, you will have to understand the problems faced by your clients and offer a solution to their problems, if you are working in a BPO. When it comes to the problems faced by the clients, it can be something really simple, to problems that might take days before it can be fixed. For digging into these complex problems, you will have to communicate with your colleagues, search for similar problems and solutions on the internet, and use your own skills. Most problems will be challenging, but that will be fun taking the credit of solving the problems.

Through the process of solving complex problems of the clients, you can learn new things in a very small span of time, and gain some practical knowledge, which you never learned in your college days, and in your books. All problems are of different natures, and it is only through personal experiences that you can solve several problems. Thus, by solving several problems associated with the domain that you are working in, you will eventually become an expert in the domain that you have dealt with. It can be associated with sales & marketing, technical assistance, and everything else under the sun. There’s hardly anything better than a BPO, where you can monetize your process of becoming a domain expert.

Extras & Incentives

By working in a BPO, you can get extra incentives every month, a few of which are not even a part of your in-hand salary. There are remuneration packages for outstanding performance and there will be additional incentives under several circumstances. Additionally, you can even avail metro-city allowances, night-shift allowances, rent allowances, and much more, however, that is a subject to vary depending upon the company you are working in and other aspects. Furthermore, you can also avail pick up and drop services so that you don’t need to end up availing public transport at the most uncomfortable hours of the day.

Female employees can also avail of additional benefits. Apart from most of the incentives I have discussed, employees working in a BPO can also visit on-site in other countries, and on-site opportunities are available quite easily to those working in a BPO, compared to those working in other sectors. This eventually opens up several career opportunities, and among all the incentives an employee gets, the biggest one all the employees get is the improvement in the communication skills, which they can use in other sectors as well. Outstanding communication skills are one of the most important things that are well-appreciated by everybody among BPO employees.

Flexibility in work

Most might not agree, but BPO jobs are highly flexible in nature and advantageous. As I have already discussed,  an employee working in a BPO can continue his education, which is hardly possible in other sectors, where the work pressure is huge. The skills one can learn in a BPO can also prove to be efficient in academics, and BPO is a sector, where you can get an opportunity to work, no matter what your academic background is, as long as you have the patience to deal with challenges, and you have good communication skills, with strong command over English is always a bonus.

Additionally, if you want to pursue some other type of job in the future, and you are doing your higher studies, you can join a BPO to earn some money for your day-to-day expenses, and support your family at the same time. There are options already to switch from one domain to the other, which I have discussed. Everything said, there is hardly any other sector that has to offer the same level of flexibility, a BPO job has to offer. Flexible work timing is already there, and there are several BPO agencies that offer part-time working opportunities that you can explore.

So, there are a plethora of advantages of working in a BPO. If you are exploring opportunities, and want to join a job for the short term, BPO is also a great option, where you can learn a number of new things that will help you tackle your next job, and establish yourself in the long run.

So, those were the top 5 advantages of working in a BPO, and yes, it is undoubtedly a great career option. Do you think there are additional options, joining a BPO job can be helpful? Feel free to comment on the same below.
