Xiaomi Mi8 Flagship Phone Announced- Another Notch in the Market

Xiaomi has announced its first phone with a notch – the new flagship phone, Mi8. The Mi8 is bestowed with a 6.21 inch OLED screen and a 20-megapixel selfie camera. The price of Xiaomi Mi8 at China starting at CNY 2,699 roughly INR 28,458 or $420 for the base version.

The Explorer Edition phone also has a four-way curved glass panel and an aluminum frame. It has excellent processing with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845 processor. It even has the new 12-megapixel dual camera setup. Xiaomi has also claimed that this is the first phone ever dual-frequency GPS and thus will be able to track locations with incredible accuracy.

Xiaomi has only come up with a limited number of Mi Flagship devices to date. However, it can be ascertained that those released are extremely popular among the masses and have proved their worth. All of them come in an affordable price range and have the latest features. This time, the results are expected to be even better because Xiaomi is said to be going all out on Mi Explorers edition.

This phone has a fingerprint scanner that uses pressure sensitivity. This feature has been inculcated in the functioning of a smartphone for the very first time. Xiaomi further claims that this new phone will be the first Android phone in the world to come up with 3D Face Recognition technology much like the latest iPhone X. The Explorer Edition phone will be priced starting from CNY 3,699 ($577 or INR 38,987 ) in China and Mi 8 SE meanwhile starts at CNY 1,799 (roughly Rs 18,955 or $280). This is an extremely competitive price for a phone which is loaded with so many features. However, no statements on the pricing and availability of this phone in India has been made by Xiaomi yet.
