Instagram to now display selfie videos on the top of your DMs

With Insta’s new update, your DMs just got more personal and fun to use. Connect with your friends from all over the world with videos and more!

Instagram’s Notes section has been the talk of the town ever since its launch. The platform has been trying its best to make Notes more interesting and fun for its users. In this attempt, Insta has now rolled out an option to upload short videos in this section. Rather, than a simple display picture, users can now upload a short video of themselves on Notes.

These videos will loop endlessly on your DM section. Adam Mosseri presented a demo of this feature for all users. This demo displayed a livelier DM section on Instagram. The platform has lately been obsessed with short videos, and they are all over the platform in the form of reels.

These videos are soon to be a part of Insta DMs as well. It will be interesting to see how the users will ultimately react to these videos. In an announcement, Moosseri announced that the latest feature is being tested. Once done, people will be able to change their boring DPs into short, interesting, and looping videos.

Even with a video option, users can still update their status with short texts and descriptions. You can also update Notes with texts and videos together. This update is set to bring an attractive and active element to your Notes section. With a fun element in the Notes, Instagram is hoping that it will now be more interesting for users to interact with it.

Given the growing popularity of Notes among the younger generation, it is believed that adding videos will be the best way to drive engagement. As per Meta, teen users upload Notes 10x times faster than older users.

With this upgrade, Instagram is hoping to tap into Snapchat’s market share among the younger audience. The feature is in its testing phase now and will soon be expanded as per user’s preference. It will be interesting to see how users react to Instagram’s new features.
