Intel Core i9-9900KS processor launched with 5 GHz speed out of the box

Intel has released the Core i9-9900KS processor (Special Edition), which is the latest model in the 9th generation Core with more power till date in the Intel processors and the strongest model. It is because out of the box, it supports a full 8-core 5GHz frequency. Indeed, there is not very much huge difference between this and earlier i9 model even the series name is the same and bit confusing too since the newer model has only ‘S’ in addition, denotes “Special”. Well, the strange thing is that the Core i9-9900KS processor only provides a one year warranty. The Intel official website also emphasizes this point. In contrast, other processors are normally three-year warranty. It will be available from October 30th 2019.

Intel has released the Core i9-9900KS processor (Special Edition)

From the architecture and process point of view, the Core i9-9900KS processor is not much new as it is still using 14nm Coffee Lake-S architecture, 8 cores and 16 threads, however, the base frequency is now 4.0GHz with turbo speed of 5.0GHz on all cores, this also means increase in power and the consumption of the same, yes,  it has a TDP of 127W. In comparison with the earlier version of the same process that was Core i9-9900K with a base frequency of 3.6GHz, turbo speed of 4.7GHz  and TDP 95W; the newly launched model is not going to make substantial difference because the i9-9900K can also reach the 5 GHz but only by overclocking method, which is not recommended as it voids the warranty. Nevertheless, in the gaming world out of the box 5Ghz in Core i9-9900KS could make some differences. It will be compatible with existing Z390 motherboards.

Regarding the performance of the processor, Intel’s comparison data is mainly compared with the PC three years ago, when playing games, streaming media and recording, the performance of the Core i9-9900KS processor increased by 27%, the Core i9-9900KS processor The number of frames has increased by 35% and the 4K editing performance has increased by 78%.

In terms of selling price, the official price of the processor will be between 513-524 US dollars, compared to the price of the Core i9-9900K processor which is 488-499 US dollars, the price increase is not much but if you are already using the 9900k series then there is no need to upgrade, however, it is one’s choice.

One reason for this nifty upgrade is to tackle the AMD growing popularity furthermore, AMD also about to launch its latest processor in Ryzen series i.e Ryzen 9 3950X in November with 16 cores. Well, if some is planning to buy i9 series then it Intel Core i9-9900KS will be a better choice rather going for Intel Core i9-9900K.
