It is increasingly becoming common for one person to have multiple devices, and the limitation of WhatsApp to run only on a single device is indeed an issue. WhatsApp has recently taken the decision to address the issue by giving the users an option to run one WhatsApp account on multiple devices, a maximum of 4 devices, to be more precise.
Previously, if a user wants to use the same WhatsApp account on a second device, he has to deregister the first device to make WhatsApp run only on the second device. Obviously, the user has the option to use WhatsApp Web and WhatsApp Desktop to chat on a computer by mirroring the chats from the mobile device, where WhatsApp is installed, and there is an active internet connection available to both devices.
Now, with the new feature, it is quite common that the user can use the same WhatsApp account on multiple devices seamlessly, and as per WABetaInfo, data sync across multiple devices will take place only when all 4 devices are connected to the same Wi-Fi hotspot.
Yes, it’s the ability to use your WhatsApp account from 4 devices at the same time.

It is also expected, you can use WhatsApp on multiple platforms, i.e. Android, as well as iOS, obviously, if the number of devices that you will run WhatsApp on, is less than or equal to just 4. This way, you can not only run WhatsApp on your mobile, but you can also run it on your tablet, and use your tablet.
So, if you use your mobile device only for communication purposes, and you do most of your work on the tablet, you will never have to manually sync your data across the two devices so that you can get started with your work. This feature should also be available on WhatsApp Business so that business users too, can communicate from multiple devices.
In this pandemic situation, when everybody is working from home, the ability to run WhatsApp on multiple devices is really a great relief. With the existing end-to-end encryption, the data transfer across all the devices will also take place smoothly and securely.
The necessity of a Wi-Fi network seems to be the only hurdle, as the Wi-Fi network will act as a credential in this case, and most people do not have a Wi-Fi network at their home. However, I really think WhatsApp will come with a solution and with the upcoming ability to run WhatsApp on multiple devices will surely skyrocket the popularity of the platform.
Most other competitors of WhatsApp, especially Telegram, already allow the users to run the same Telegram account on multiple devices, however, it works in a different way on Telegram. There isn’t any timeline about when this feature will be available to the users. But we can expect the feature to arrive really soon.
So, that was a small feature update news related to WhatsApp. Will it benefit you, if you can use WhatsApp on multiple devices? Feel free to comment on the same below.
