Far Cry 6 is About to Return to the Tropical Settings World

Far Cry is one of the most loved FPS games ever. Since the launch of Far Cry 3 back in 2012, the franchises picked an enormous pace in growth and fan following. The last major installment was the Far Cry 5, which featured Father Joseph as the villain, the story was quite simple and straight forward and the gameplay was repetitive, which led the fans to criticize the game, though financially the game was a record-breaking success.

After the criticism, the developers launched another story extended version of the game named Far Cry – New Dawn, which featured an old-style jungle-based classic Far Cry gameplay with almost no story, but fans loved the gameplay this time. The same happened before when Far Cry 4, which featured Pagan-Ming as the villain got criticized, but the next game Far Cry Primal was loved by the fans due to the complete jungle warfare.

So, it has been proved that people actually love the Far Cry gameplay most when they got offered a tropical world with various animals and jungle fighting stuffs in the game. That is why the Far Cry 3 featuring Vass as the villain, the most successful installment of the game. This is the reason why developers Ubisoft decided to play the success formula of tropical settings world and jungle-based gameplay so that they can create a successful game without criticism this time.

What do we Know?

Since the launch of Far Cry – New Dawn back in 2018, there has been no progress officially from the developer’s side. Though there have been many rumors floating over the internet, none of them was confirmed by any official sources or leaks. But the topic of Far Cry 6 comes alive when Ubisoft released the trailer of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. As the developers are same for the Assassin’s Creed and Far Cry, most of the fans are thinking, that now when the production of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is done with, Ubisoft can shift their focus towards the Far Cry 6 project.

  • Also as the game is not teased or confirmed under development yet, so we can surely expect that Far Cry 6 is also going to be a next-gen game just like Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. Hence, the Far Cry 6 would be available after launch as a PS5 and Xbox Series X game, and chances are there for PS4 and Xbox One availability as well, along with the Windows platform.
  • We should know that Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is going to be the first game in the franchises which will not be available on Steam library at the launch. It implies that next-gen games are also going to have a different kind of marketing strategy. Also, fans are already overwhelmed by knowing the size of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s map size, and are expecting the same from the Far Cry 6 too; when the Ubisoft representative asked by media on this matters, he just smiled.
  • As the upcoming games from Ubisoft is going to debut on the Next-gen consoles, so there is nothing wrong if the fans are expecting something very big but very classic. According to most of the rumors Ubisoft is just doing that in both the projects of Assassin’s Creed and Far Cry. According to an industry insider, Okabe (via the comic book), it has been reported that Far Cry 6 is shifting back towards the tropical settings and jungle maps. He also reported that Far Cry 6 would be introducing Horses and Jetpacks this time. The atmosphere of the game would be alike to the “Narcos”, and the player would be tasked with helping/saving a zoo. Also, many Co-op missions are also going to be there.

Wrapping Up

However, Okabe is a famous industry insider, but not an official source from the Ubisoft itself, so it is a matter of your belief that how much you are going to trust his report. It is possible that Ubisoft is going to reveal something or just confirm the Far Cry 6 project in the July Showcase Event. Far Cry 6 project can be delayed due to the Covid-19 pandemic and also it is possible that the developers are waiting for next-gen consoles to hit the market, and then they would create the biggest records on the next-gen gaming industry.
