Now you can kill Robin in the upcoming animated Batman: Death in the Family movie

DC and Batman fans around the world will have the power to decide the fate of Jason Todd in this animated movie by Warner Bros. IGN resealed the exclusive trailer of the movie.

The brand new trailer of the upcoming batman animated movie is released by IGN and there will be a new feature available for the viewers to interact with the movie. The movie will likely to serve as a prequel or you can say it would be more like a retelling of the Batman: Under the Red Hood movie from 2010. Only the difference is that you could influence the storyline this time with the ability to spare or take the life of the sidekick of Batman.

Many voice artists will be returning for this installment to give the voice to your favorite characters. Bruce Greenwood once again will voice the character of our beloved hero Batman, Joker will be voiced by John DiMaggio, Zehra Fazal will voice Talia Al Ghul, Vincent Martella and Gary Cole will give the voice to Jason Todd and Two-Face respectively.

The movie can be compared with the Black Mirror: Bandersnatch movie because of the interactive nature of both movies.  And this is not the first time DC will give the authority to fans to decide the fate of this particular character. In the late 80s, DC did the same thing by creating a 1-900 number for the fans to vote to determine the death or life of the Robin for their comic storyline. According to the voting they ultimately published the original comic storyline for Death in the Family where Joker murdered Jason Todd by constant beating to his death. And after that, we had his resurrection as a vigilante with a violent Red Hood persona in the further storyline of that arc.

Warner Bros provided an official statement:

“The interactive Blue-ray presentation offers many different ways for viewers to tell the Batman: Death in the Family story, with numerous twists and turns in the middle, and several possible endings. The choices along the way put greater weight on the viewers’ decisions and result in even stronger stories. Produced, directed, and written by Brandon Vietti, Batman: Death in the family offers an inventive take on the long demanded story. In the new animated presentation, the infamous murder of Batman protégé Jason Todd will be undone, and the destinies of Batman, Robin, and the Joker will play out in shocking new ways as viewers make multiple choices to control the story. And while Batman: Under the Red Hood provides a baseline, the story also branches in new directions and features several characters previously unseen in the original film.”

There will be multiple shorts available in the movie where viewers get to decide the fate of the storyline and Robin in the course of the runtime ultimately deciding the destiny of him along with multiple ending depending on the choices.

It will launch on streaming along with the Blu-ray in the fall. So, it will be a huge opportunity for the DC and Batman fans to take part in a Batman movie storyline where you can be a part of it. The drama, intensity, and feel of pressure for the decisions will surely excite us where the life of a character will be in our own hands, especially in a movie.

I would recommend you to watch Batman: Under the Red Hood movie to know more about the upcoming movie and for storyline knowledge in case you do not know about it or haven’t watched it yet.
