4G VS 5G: Do we need it and how 5G is going to change the world?

We are living in a world of technology where the internet is treated as one of the basic requirements. People are now connected through different platforms of social media; regardless of boundaries and distances. All of these have only been possible because of the internet. The revolution of the internet was very fast as the developers understood the increasing need for high-speed internet. With an increase in the number of Smartphone users in the market, the demand for high-speed internet increased insanely. So, the journey of 2G networks to 4G networks was comparatively very fast and 5G networks are on the verge of releasing.

The involvement of international businesses played a vital role in the amplified demand of the internet. The Internet is required to contact overseas clients of a company. Due to this, many unemployed people get the chance to earn from different fields present in it. All together the internet has helped the technologies to be a better version of it.

What do we need 4G or 5G and why.

Now on the verge of releasing the 5G network, everyone is very excited to experience the speed and quality that it’s going to deliver. It has been predicted that it can provide a speed that will be equivalent to ten times the speed of 4G networks. With this speed, all the functions can be done in much higher quality and quantity. Videos can be uploaded and downloaded is milliseconds along with uninterrupted high-resolution video playing.

Everything is awesome about 5G speed except the cost that it will bear. Similar to the higher speed that the 5G network will provide, the costing of 1 GB data can be tripled compared to the costing of 4G networks.

The matter of fact do we require 5G speed in our smartphones for using apps and social media?

The is not yet, all the functions that we use in our smartphones can be easily fulfilled by 4G networks, so for personal use, 5G will be a bit extra.

Taking multinational companies into account, which deals with overseas clients and servers; 5G can help them to connect faster. 5G is more appropriate for businesses and companies. If they can utilize it properly then many huge operations can be sorted out easily. With greater speed comes greater power, similarly with this technology we can make many things into their smarter versions such as driverless cars, smart homes, in the proliferation of Artificial Intelligence, etc.

Many theories have been carried forward for this technology; like scientists are planning to turn our cities into smart cities and slowly each work can be done online. Letting the technology to do most of the work online will minimize the hassle of the people in day to day life. This can eventually increase the security levels of the devices that will be used to execute the work. But with this advantage, a huge disadvantage is a willingness to arrive is unemployment. Robots, Smartphones, and computers will take the places of different employees working in different sectors. 5G has its pros and cons and the world needs to accept both.

By considering the technicality of both 4G and 5G networks, we can understand it more keenly.

Mainly the speed factor of the networks totally depended upon the bandwidth. 4G has promised to provide 1Gbit/sec speed to all the devices that have enabled 4G services. This fourth-generation network promotes multiple device connections at a time along with high-quality video streaming and fast data transfer. 4G is often termed as LTE which stands for long term evolution due to its high uploading and downloading rate. After the launch of 4G, people have forgotten the term buffering apart from a few places where the towers are not installed in a required manner to provide proper speed. All together LTE is a big success in the field of networks. Though the requirement of the smartphones can easily be fulfilled by LTE; offices that run hundreds of work stations still need better connectivity.

As the world is getting more technology-oriented; the requirement for a better generation network will always be on-demand. Similarly, the concept of 5G is immersed for the betterment of quality and connectivity. 5G is comparatively three times more efficient than 4G in context to speed, quantity, and accuracy. As we have already discussed previously, 5G can help us to build smart cities, so let’s highlight how it will do that.

5G will come with such high bandwidth that it will have the capacity to connect huge numbers of machines and devices together. All the work that is executed in an organization can be easily monitored through the internet by controlling different machines by it. In a nutshell, with 5G speed, all the work can be completed in much less time but the cost will increase eventually.

Another advantage of 5G is that the connection will not get disconnected while traveling because it provides a higher spectrum. Though a lot of work is pending before the installation of 5G networks, it is assumed that it will be completed within 2025. If you have noticed the market recently you can see that the smartphones with 5G enabling networks are already launched due to which it can be confirmed that 5G will be available soon. However, availing it to all the areas will take a longer time frame.

In conclusion, we can state that 4G and 5G are both effective in their respective fields. 4G is best for smartphones and personal use by keeping cost-effectiveness in mind whereas 5G can be used for the development of our world. Smart cities and smart works will significantly help our generation to save time and simplify the process of completing a certain work. As 5G is supporting a greater number of devices connected to a definite channel, there will be a chance of congestion in the frequency range. So let us wait for the latest network and observe what differences it is going to bring to our world.
