Android O Available to Beta Users of OnePlus 3, 3T

Android 8.0 Oreo operating system which brings a ton of great features such as picture-in-picture, autofill, integrated Instant Apps, Google Play Protect, faster boot time, and much more is now available to beta users of OnePlus 3, 3T.

The new update will bring added smart text selection, new quick settings design, updated security patch to September and added notification dots. Consumers can now able to upload photos directly to ‘Shot on OnePlus,’ OnePlus said in a blog post.

With the new autofill framework, users can easily set up a new device and synchronize their passwords. Apps using form data can optimise their apps for autofill, and password manager apps can use the new APIs to make their services available to users in their favorite apps.

While the Android Oreo update comes as a welcome news for OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T users, this will also be the last major software update for the users of both the devices. Additionally, OnePlus has confirmed that both the smartphones will continue to get bug fixes and improvements.

The company has also mentioned some issues which users may face after they had updated to Android Oero such as fingerprint unlock may be a bit slow in some situations and the shortcut to access Google Photos might be unavailable. The company further wrote that stability of NFC and Bluetooth need will be improved and the performance and compatibility of 3rd party apps will be optimised continuously and the complete device tree will be released after a week.

The OnePlus Music app has been removed from this build.

The company released OnePlus 3T less than six months after OnePlus 3 and both have among the popular smartphones in India. OnePlus 3T’s is powered by Snapdragon 821 chipset, 6GB RAM, 64 GB or 128 GB of internal storage and a 3400mAh battery.
