On March 28, 2018, Seattle, the Amazon.com company Amazon Web services (AWS) has announced that the Godaddy is finally moving its majority of infrastructure on AWS as a part of the multi-year transition. In the media press release, the Amazon also mentioned that the step of Godaddy infrastructure migration not only helps the AWS services in leveraging their breadth and depth but also play an important role in upcoming innovations. It also improves the different AWS services like machine learning, analytics, databases, and containers. On the other hand, the AWS will enable GoDaddy to accelerate the delivery of its products and services, and easily deploy them globally in minutes, to its customers worldwide.
The AWS stated that the Godaddy is the active adopter of containerized applications which directly or indirectly definitely helps AWS’s Amazon Elastic Container Service for Kubernetes (Amazon EKS) to extend its reach.
The AWS’s Amazon Elastic Container Service which full manageable allow GoDaddy to run its many Kubernetes workloads on AWS without change; since Amazon EKS is fully compatible with any standard Kubernetes environment.
GoDaddy is also using Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2) P3 Instances which claimed by the company is one of the most powerful graphics processing unit (GPU) instances available in the cloud. Such power and capability will significantly reduce the time and increase the performance to train machine learning models and GoDaddy Domain Appraisals tool that helps customers understand the value of their domains.
In addition, GoDaddy and AWS are working together to incorporate some of GoDaddy’s domain technology and website building products—Managed WordPress and GoCentral—into the AWS experience to provide AWS customers with an array of tools for quickly finding the perfect domain name and building a powerful online presence.
