Chinese smartphone maker OnePlus has launched its flagship device OnePlus 5 in the US that comes with a massive 8GB of RAM and dual rear cameras.
Speaking of aesthetics, OnePlus 5 is similar to iPhone 7 Plus with the Home button in the front. The fingerprint sensor has now been moved to the front of the device.
According to the OnePlus, it is the slimmest flagship smartphone.
For photographers, OnePlus 5 has a dual camera setup on the rear – a main 16MP camera with f/1.7 aperture and a 20MP camera with f/1.6 aperture. It packs 16MP camera with f/2.0 aperture at the front.
OnePlus 5 runs on custom Oxygen OS on top of Android 7.1.1 Nougat operating system. The company has added a new “Reading Mode” feature that changes the colour temperature according to ambient lighting.
Oxygen OS also comes with “refined design language” and several bug fixes to improve the user experience, the company said.
OnePlus 5 houses 3,300mAh, which is nearly 100mAh smaller than OnePlus 3T.
While OnePlus 5 will cost $479 (nearly Rs 30,800) in the US, it will be EUR 499 (nearly Rs 35,000) in Europe. Users in Europe and the US can pre-order the device now. The OnePlus 5 release date has been set as June 27.
In the Indian market, the device will be launched on June 22.
