How to Use Parallel apps in Oneplus 6, 6T, 5, 5T, 3 and 3T

The latest Android brings native Parallel apps feature in OnePlus 5, OnePlus 5T, Oneplus 3, and Oneplus 3T. The latest parallel apps feature in OnePlus enables users to run a cloned version of apps already installed into the phone with different accounts and credentials. It means you can run dual WhatsApp, dual Facebook, dual Instagram, and other apps in the dual configuration. It helps the power users to separate their business and personal accounts on different Android apps.

Using Parallel Apps in Android phones is not a new concept and the Google Play store is full of such apps that allow us to run two apps on the same smartphone. Before Oneplus 5, so many other smartphone manufacturers already in the market with parallel apps feature such as Xiaomi, Honor, Vivo, Oppo, etc. Recently Samsung has also brought the same features as a part of the Oreo update.

Use Parallel apps in Oneplus 5, 5T, 3, 3T and 6 & 6T

Step 1: Android 10  Update

First of all, update your Oneplus 5 or other OnePlus models to available Android 10.0 because the parallel space is only accessible in the Android Oreo and later OS as part of the update. The OnePlus updated Oxygen Os is 5.0.1.

Step 2: Locate Parallel apps

To access the parallel apps in OnePlus 6,6T, 5, 5T, 3 or 3T go to Settings -> Utilities and select Apps option. Under the apps, you get multiple options such as:

Application List: Shows all applications installed on your smartphone.

App Permissions: To see which app is holding what type permissions like storage, camera, internet, and more uses by an app.

Default: Info about Apps set as default for particular file type or actions such as Default Browser app, Phone App, SMS app, Gallery app, Music app, Mail app, and more.

Parallel Apps: For running apps in Dual configuration.

Special access: It gives different options to provide some special access as a Device administrator, Notifications access, Unrestricted data usage, Install Unkown apps, and more.

 

 

Step 3: Parallel Apps

Now select and open the Parallel Apps option to clone apps or use them in the dual configuration. From the screen, you will see a list of all apps installed apps those can be cloned. Tap the On/Off toggle button in front of the app you want to clone.

After cloning the app you will see two versions of the same app one with a golden circle icon and the other will remain the same in the standard icon. You can see in the screenshot.
