Recently, Flipkart e-commerce giant of India has announced a simple MarQ TurboStream device to convert standard TVs into Smart TV something like Amazon Firestick (4k stick review) and Google chrome cast (ChromeCast 3 review) but only to provide Android OS on TVs. Yes, the launched Flipkart’s devices is a streaming stick that revealed under the company’s’ private brand ‘MarQ by Flipkart’. The reason stated by the Flipkart to dive into this segment because of rapid growth in streaming service usage amid Indian consumers.
Flipkart MarQ TurboStream streaming stick comes with Android 9.0 OS as most the Indian users are familiar with it and already know how to use different Google’s widely popular operating system functionalities. It supports all apps available on the Google Play Store.
The price set by the Flipkart for MarQ Turbosteream is INR 3,499.
If we talk about the hardware of this stick which is only designed to convert existing non-smart TVs into Smarter one; the Flipkart streaming device supports the resolution of 1920*1080 – Full HD at 60 frames per second.
For wireless streaming, it comes with support for 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz WiFi. 1 GB DDR3 RAM and 8GB ROM are integrated to run the Android OS, however, which doesn’t sound impressive, yet, we can’t comment without using the device.
Furthermore, it has support for Google Voice Assitant that can be controlled using the wireless voice-controlled remote. And to provide optimum sound, Flipkart MarQ TurboStream uses Dolby Digital Audio.
MarQ TurboStream offers several other advantages such as built-in Chromecast to project mobile phone display content on TV.
